When the Pan Am Yankee Clipper flight 101 from London landed at New York’s Kennedy Airport, rock and roll changed forever- “Beatlemania” arrived in the United States. Call them The Beatles, call them The Fab Four, call them Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, call them the greatest rock band of all time. It was the first time the Brit band visited the United States, shortly after landing its first #1 U.S. hit, "I Want to Hold Your Hand." Two days after their arrival, the iconic band appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, to the tune of a whopping 73 million American viewers.
