Already having dropped 16 straight games, Atlanta Braves owner Ted Turner made a bold move and took over as manager for a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Atlanta would lose the game, 2-1, and MLB would later step in and remove Turner as manager, citing a rule that prevents owners from managing ball clubs.
