The Baltimore Ravens ravens entered Super Bowl XXXV on January 28, 2001, with one of the stingiest defenses in NFL history. Led by linebacker Ray Lewis and safety Rod Woodson, the Ravens defense shut down a potent New York Giants offense that put up 41 points against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship game. Baltimore limited the Giants to 152 total yards and forced five turnovers. The Ravens also got a boost from their special teams, which returned two kickoffs for touchdowns. Ray Lewis was named the game's MVP.
