Governors, like most politicians, are often loved or hated. Despite the highly-polarized nature of American politics today, state execeutives tend to have higher net-approval ratings (people who say that approve minus people who disapprove) than others in government, like congressional representatives. This list is based on polling data released in April 2024 collected by Morning Consult. The top ten governors are listed in order, with the highest approval rating going to Delaware Gov. John Carney at 68 per cent. Interestingly, seven of the 10 are from states in the northeast part of the country.
The top-10 list is:
1. John Carney, Delaware
2. Spencer Cox, Utah
3. Phil Scott, Vermont
4. Wes Moore, Maryland
5. Maura Healey, Massachusetts
6. Ned Lamont, Connecticut
7. Chris Sununu, New Hampshire
8. Josh Shapiro, Pennsylvania
9. Brian Kemp, Georgia
10. Andy Beshear, Kentucky
